I haven’t done anything serious with photos for years. There was a time that as well as enjoying snapping pics I was a keen hand at the creative darkroom development process. To date the digital revolution has just gently dragged me along. I have put a few snaps up on this site and even added a stream so I can post directly from my mobile but nothing serious. In fact far from it.
Off-line it’s much the same. I have not really managed to get a digital collection organised and many snaps have been left with DSC10001 as their only identification. I have tried to get organised with some of the apps available and was quite pleased on hearing Picasa was coming to Linux (that it’s a port by way of WINE somewhat dampens things…) Yet on buying an *ist DL2 I ought to be able to take things a wee bit more seriously again and feel that I should get something better set up. While I like the DIY hosted approach with Gallery I have also played with a few managed online offerings like Flickr and Yahoo! Photos – but am still on the lookout for better.
Textdrive – my web host has doubled my space online and also increased the number of domains I can set up so I might just get another URL and dedicate it to some pics. I’ve only just noticed the comments on some of my photos at my gallery site – and love the humour they have provoked – literally laughing out loud.
