Glad the beeb has decided to repeat the Smoking Room new series. Caught it tonight and things look even more hilarious than the first series. I’d always ranked it somewhere above Ricky Gervaise’s Office and was a bit disappointed that the main BBC2 run didn’t get more acclaim.
Granted I’ve given up smoking for over four years – and the smoking room is a place I’d never enter these days even if they existed within NHS establishments. But there was always a comeraderie and sense of fun that these sort of places had more than other staff areas.
There’s a site for the prog at the Smoking Room BBC web, and I hope they plug it more when it returns to terrestrial. As it stands, it is on Tuesdays on BBC3 and repeated Sundays – pure comedy classic.
