I have got through most things on the to do list in the switch from Movable Type to TextPattern.
An installation of TextPattern was included with my new hosting, so it has been relatively easy to get things somewhat better than MT was providing.
I did the import using a text export dump from Movable Type, using ramanan’s script on the forums. It went reasonably smoothly in the end.
ToDo:
CSS / layout mostly taken care of for now
Import old blog Everything including the rare comments seem to have survived the switch.
Customised archiving, if possible Date based archives don’t seem to be easily enabled.
If not, copy static archive. Now realise that redirects would be a nicer solution.
Magpie RSS Fairly straightforward. My StumbleUpon RSS notes came in useful sooner than I anticipated.
Gallery Fine but no effort to maintain same structure.
Write something interesting. Well that’s more of a long term aspiration rather than something to be crossed off this to do list.
